I've looked up quite a few and found every one. I did note, though, that you MUST use a wild card as long as you're putting in only a part of the provider name on the organizations, even if you're putting in the entire part of the name. In other words, if you're trying to find a surgery center but you can't remember if they call themselves Taylor Surgical Care or Taylor SurgiCare, you can't just put in "Taylor", you have to put in "Taylor*". No other quirks so far that I've found, though.

I also love the fact that it has the taxonomy code. I have to use the TC for the referring Drs on my claims. The UPIN site just says the specialty...i.e. Orthopedic Surgery. There are several TC that could apply. Now we know the correct one to use as it is attached to the NPI #.

At some point, the rumor is, that carriers will start cross-matching the TC to the NPI and they had better match!

I've used a couple of times today. I also found out that the registry lists Medicaid provider numbers, which are required as referrals. Just made my job easier.
